A Brief Tour of the Buena Vista Neighborhood
Many visitors first see the tree-lined Leigh Avenue w
hich leads to our area from Highway 280 and points south.
While we are known for our bungalows that date from the early 1900s, we’re more than just lovely old bungalows.
Along with the bungalows, we have a few Victorians, many small homes built in the 40s and 50s that are perfect for first-time home-buyers, several modern townhouse complexes, old-style apartments built in the 40s, as well as more modern apartment buildings.
We have our own neighborhood park and we are working on creating another.

In the winter of 2006-2007, Scott Street got some much needed improvements -- new trees, cut-outs on sidewalks for the disabled, and spiffy new old-fashioned light posts:

Along our northern border is San Carlos Street, a major thoroughfare lined with shops and restaurants. We are particularly fond of the many ethnic restaurants, including Vietnamese, Salvadoran, Korean Barbecue, Cuban, and Lebanese – in addition to the more common Chinese, Mexican, and fast-food burger joints. Ten minutes to the west are two popular shopping destinations: Santana Row and Westfield Mall
