Affordable Internet via Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program provides eligible households with up to $50/month discounted from their internet service. This benefit was included in the American Rescue Plan, that was approved by Congress in January 2021. The eligibility requirements are listed below. If you qualify and choose to enroll, you will have the discount automatically taken off of your monthly bill. This benefit is temporary and will only be available as long as the program is funded by Congress. If you enroll and receive the discount, your internet service provider is required to notify you at least 60 days before the benefit is going to expire.

  • Any household income under $49,000/year

  • Child enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)

  • CalFresh (food stamp) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • Medi-Cal or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • Student with a Pell Grant

  • Participant in FCC Lifeline; Participant in an existing affordable Home Internet offer
