While many U.S. cities have been both delighted and beleaguered by recent proliferation of e-scooters, it's become increasingly clear that their disruptive nature has resulted in increased accounts of collisions, injuries, and even deaths nationwide, requiring more innovation before they can operate safely in a public environment. That's why I've joined Councilmembers Dev Davis and Raul Peralez to propose San Jose mandates Scooter companies to implement innovative safety solutions, like geo-fencing, to obtain a permit in our City.
