Home Electrification Webinar Series

Are you interested in learning more about home electrification and the upgrades you can make to live more sustainable while saving money? Attend our 2024 Home Electrification Webinar series to learn the ins and outs of home electrification, including useful information on getting started and the available incentives that can help you save money. In partnership with Redwood Energy, the City of San José’s Climate Smart team is hosting a series of three webinars, one of which will be presented live in both Spanish and Vietnamese, to educate residents, contractors, developers, and property owners and managers on a variety of electrification topics.

  • Multiple Dates: “Ask Sean, Trang, and Maria Shows” for Home Electrification

Ask an industry expert about how to electrify your single-family or multifamily home! This session will cover case studies, product guides, advice for staying on budget, and solutions for the trickiest, tiniest, oldest, and newest homes. There will be ample time for Q&A, so bring all of your home electrification questions!

There are rebates available for house and apartment electrification, solar, back-up batteries, and electric vehicle chargers. This session will cover a variety of building type case studies to show how you can get money from all the available local, state, and federal rebates and incentives to help you decarbonize on a budget. 


This webinar will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation services provided in Spanish and Vietnamese to accommodate your language preference.

  • June 18th, 2024 6-7:30 p.m.: Avoiding Electric Panel Upgrades (register here

Home electrification can sometimes trigger an electric utility service upgrade, which can cost $2,500 - $30,000 and take 2 - 18 months to complete. Come learn how to avoid an upgrade with energy efficiency, 120V appliances, clipping solar inverters, and load balancing "smart" plugs, subpanels, and whole house panels. With a little planning you can save a great deal of time and money. 


This webinar will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation services provided in Spanish and Vietnamese to accommodate your language preference.
