The City of San Jose is excited to get the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program back up and running in San Jose!  The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is reaching out to our District 6 residents who may be interested in enrolling.

The 20-hour CERT training will educate volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks.

CERT Training is free to San Jose Residents. Training takes place on

Friday evenings from 6:00pm -10:00pm and 2 consecutive Saturdays from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
