Drive-by Shooting Disrupts Buena Vista

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

Sunday night in Buena Vista was interrupted by gunshots and neighbors found themselves in the middle of yet another senseless act of, what police believe to be, another act of gang related violence. Just before 6pm the Driver of a stolen dark grey Nissan crossover opened fire near the intersection of Scott and S Willard Avenue Sending residents seeking shelter.

This is violence comes shortly after a murder took place just a few hundred yards away at Savers earlier this month. Just a day prior to that murder, there was a stabbing and police standoff that took place about three blocks away on West San Carlos.

Residents are, unfortunately, use to the sounds of gunshots and the violence that surrounds them; about two months ago, another shooting took place in Buena Vista at Scott and Richmond, about a half away from the scene of last nights violence.

If you were witness to the shooting last night, or have information that will help investigators, please reach out to the police department by calling 911.

If you have home security camera footage of the crime, please let SJPD know. Additionally, you can register your security camera with SJPD which allows investigators to proactively reach out to you when they are in need of evidence to solve crimes. For more information check out:
