Meeting Notice -Meridian Ave Project

Please see the following Meeting Notice from the Department of Transportation.

Wednesday, April 10, 2019 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Booksin Elementary School

1590 Dry Creek Rd San Jose, CA 95125

The City of San José Department of Transportation is leading an effort to repave and install bike lanes on Meridian Avenue between Curtner Avenue and Willow Street. The new bike lanes will close a critical gap between existing bike lanes on Curtner Ave, Hamilton Ave, Minnesota Ave, and Willow St. On-street parking spots need to be removed to provide sufficient width for the bike lane. Preparation work on Meridian Ave is expected to begin in early May. Repaving and striping work are scheduled for summer and fall.

PROJECT PURPOSE

• Improve safety by adding bike lanes and narrowing vehicle lanes

• Improve access to transit by bike and foot: VTA Bus Lines 25 and 63

• Improve neighborhood livability and quality of life by creating a more comfortable environment to walk and bike

• Leverage resources by implementing with the City’s annual (2019) Pavement Maintenance Program
