NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF A DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT (EIR) AND PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
A Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Meridian Apartments Project is available for review. The proposed project would include the demolition of two single-family residences, a warehouse, and a garage, and construction of a six-story mixed use project with 1,780‑square feet of retail and 233 dwelling units, and the removal of 28 ordinance sized trees, on a 2.1-acre site.

The proposed project will have a significant and unavoidable impact on the cultural resources, and potentially significant construction period impacts on air quality, biological resources, hazardous materials, and noise. The project is not located on any of the list of hazardous sites under Section 65962.5 of the Government Code.The Draft EIR and documents referenced in the Draft EIR are available for review online on the City of San José’s “Active EIRs” website at www.sanjoseca.gov/activeeirs and are also available at the following locations:Department of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement, 200 E. Following the close of the public review period, the Director of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement will prepare a Final EIR that will include responses to comments received during the review period. At least ten days prior to the public hearing on the EIR, the City’s responses to comments received during the public review period will be available for review and will be sent to those who have commented in writing on the EIR during the public review period.
