Every day 7 people die from home fires. Since 2014, the American Red Cross home fire safety campaign has saved more than 580 lives and made more than 700,000 households safer by installing free smoke alarms and carrying out fire safety training in homes in at risk neighborhoods.
The Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and the San Jose Fire Department are partnering to target the city’s manufactured home parks which are particularly vulnerable. Since launching our partnership, we have installed over 3000 free smoke alarms in 11 parks.
Our next life-saving event will take place on Saturday July 20th at Eastridge Estates Mobile Home Park (1955 Quimby Road, San Jose, 95122).
The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We provide: training, all necessary materials, breakfast, lunch and FUN.
