Traffic Alert! Road Closures This Weekend as a Result of the Silicon Valley Half Marathon


The 2nd Annual Silicon Valley Half-Marathon will take place on April 28th, 2019.


On Sunday, April 28th there are two races starting at 8:00 a.m.:


The 10k Race course which goes from Downtown San Jose through the Guadalupe River Park to the SAP Center area AND and a Half Marathon race that comes through the neighborhoods along The Alameda and through the Greater Rose Garden area.


There will be multiple road closures along The Alameda and throughout the neighborhoods of the Greater Rose Garden area along the Race Course on Sunday, April 15th starting at 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.


The Alameda will be closed from Stockton Street to Hedding Street from 7:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. No parking zones along the Race Course will be in effect from 12:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.


Special Instructions for Residents/Businesses/Churches south of University Ave between The Alameda and Dana St.:


Access to and from the neighborhoods south of University Ave is available through the south side from Park Ave via San Carlos, Meridian Ave, or Race St. Residents coming from the north are advised to use Bascom Ave to San Carlos Ave. From there, vehicles can turn north on Meridian Ave or Race St to Park Ave. Vehicles can also use Highway 87 and exit on Park Ave.

Please be aware of the road closures and no parking zones in the area.


Consider using a 'real-time' navigation application like Waze to get around the road closures and detours with the least amount of inconveniences. Additionally, public transit via VTA bus services may be disrupted/delayed/rerouted during the event.
