You Can Use San Jose State University's Pool to Escape the Summer Heat
If you can’t head west to the ocean, why not catch smaller waves by dipping into San Jose State’s new Student Recreation and Aquatic Center — dubbed S-RACK — which features two pools — a 21-lane competition lap pool that will be home to SJSU’s swim, diving and water polo teams and a large recreation pool that includes an additional six lanes.

The rec pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and an area for outdoor yoga. It also features a barbecue area, umbrellas, basketball hoops, volleyball net and obstacle course. Current SJSU students have free access to the facility, but it’s also open to the community at large, with pool-only memberships as well as summer pool passes for families of four through Aug. 16.
