    What is a Flex Alert?

    A Flex Alert is a call for consumers to voluntarily conserve electricity when there is a predicted shortage of energy supply, especially if the grid operator needs to dip into reserves to cover demand.     PG&E has been conducting extensive work in and around the Burbank Buena Vista Neighborhoods and has notified residents near Scott and S Willard Ave that there will be a planned power outage on 7/20 between 9am and 4pm while they make repairs and improvements. These can be anything from clearing trees from power lines, to replacing transformers, to fixing worn wires.     High winds have been blowing trees into overhead lines which has resulted in multiple outages and down lines in Buena Vista and throughout the city. PG&E is working to restore service to all customers. This has also resulted in a number of roads been shut down as line crews secure and repair the downed wires.     S.J. Homeowners eligible for free trees

    If your yard could use a little extra shade — and you are a homeowner in San Jose — a free tree could be in your future.
